PTFE does not identify one interchangeable part
A request for a PTFE diaphragm needs more detail than the pump connection size. WILDEN offers different PTFE diaphragm designs, and the correct assembly depends on the model. Before ordering, identify the complete pump code, current diaphragm design and any documented conversion history.
Understand the design distinction
Full-stroke and reduced-stroke describe different diaphragm arrangements. WILDEN presents full-stroke PTFE designs as allowing greater displacement than its reduced-stroke approach. Reduced-stroke PTFE assemblies use the specified backup diaphragm. These design differences make it essential to use the correct component combination rather than mixing visually similar parts.
Match performance information to the assembly
When reviewing a curve, confirm that its diaphragm configuration matches the offered or installed pump. Do not carry a flow expectation from another PTFE version into a quotation without checking applicability. If the existing pump has been modified, the original nameplate record may need to be supplemented with the approved conversion documentation.
Investigate why replacement is needed
Record how long the previous assembly operated and whether the duty changed. Include fluid, temperature, suction condition and operating pattern. Repeated failures may require a system or material review, not merely another identical order. Preserve photographs of the removed parts for qualified assessment without treating appearance alone as a definitive diagnosis.
Order a documented assembly
Request the exact diaphragm and backup references, applicable kit number and installation manual. Keep the parts together by equipment tag.
